What Hair Botox Treatment Actually Is
The name borrows the idea of "filling in and smoothing" from the cosmetic world, but the treatment is entirely topical. A conditioning formula is worked through the hair, left to process, rinsed and usually sealed with a blow-dry and iron. Nothing goes into your scalp or skin.
It is a cosmetic treatment. It improves how the hair looks and feels: softer, shinier, less frizzy and easier to comb. It does not treat hair fall, dandruff or scalp conditions, and it cannot join broken ends back together. For hair fall from the roots or scalp problems, please see a dermatologist.

What Happens at Your Appointment
Consultation
We look at your hair and go through its history: colour, bleach, smoothening, heat. Then we choose the treatment that fits, which is not always the strongest one.
Patch test and strand test
Every chemical hair service at Popyz starts with a patch test and strand test, so we know how your skin and hair respond before we treat everything.
Cleanse
The hair is washed to remove oil and build-up so the treatment can work on clean hair.
Application and processing
The treatment is applied section by section through the lengths and left for the time the product needs.
Sealing and aftercare
Depending on the treatment, the hair is rinsed, dried and sealed with heat. You go home with aftercare instructions for the product used.

- Plex Treatment is a bond-repair style treatment for hair that has been coloured, lightened or chemically treated.

How Long Hair Botox Lasts, and Aftercare
Hair botox is the most temporary of the salon hair treatments. It wears off gradually with washing, often over a couple of months, depending on your hair and how you care for it. You can repeat it as part of a regular hair care routine; we will suggest the timing for your hair.
- Follow the wash timing you are given; some products need a few days before the first wash.
- Use a sulphate-free shampoo and a conditioner every wash.
- Use heat protectant before styling, and keep tools on lower heat.
- Oil gently if you like, without heavy oiling right after the treatment.
- Trim ends every few months so split ends do not travel up the hair.
