What Happens at Your Eyelash Extension Appointment
Consultation
We look at your natural lashes and eye shape and ask what look you want: soft and natural, or fuller. Your own lashes decide how much length and fullness they can safely carry.
Prep
Come with clean eyes and no eye makeup. Remove contact lenses. The lashes are cleansed and the lower lashes are covered so they do not get stuck.
Application
With your eyes closed, extensions are attached one by one to individual natural lashes. Most women find it relaxing; some even fall asleep.
Check and separate
We check that no lashes are stuck together, since that is what causes discomfort and damage.
Aftercare advice
You get clear instructions for the first day and the weeks after.
Tell us straight away if your eyes sting, burn or water a lot during or after the appointment. If redness or swelling carries on after you leave, see a doctor.

How Long Eyelash Extensions Last, and Aftercare
Extensions are attached to your natural lashes, which shed and regrow in a cycle, so the set thins out gradually rather than all at once. As general guidance, many people find they look full for around two to four weeks. How you care for them makes the biggest difference.
- Keep them dry for the first day; avoid steam, saunas and very hot showers.
- Do not rub your eyes, and try not to sleep face-down into the pillow.
- Use oil-free makeup remover around the eyes; oil can loosen the adhesive.
- Skip mascara, and never use an eyelash curler on extensions.
- Clean the lash line gently and brush the lashes with a clean spoolie.
- Do not pick or pull them off. If you want them removed, come in and we will do it safely.
